SUBJECT: Quality Services, Support, and Products Rendered

It has been my distinct pleasure, over the past three years (1996 to 1999), to have been associated with and to have worked with Mary White of Business Services UnLimited in the support of the Department of Energy’s Information Architecture (IA) Program. Ms. White has been involved as a contractor team member and has contributed significantly to the continued viability and importance of this Program. Her graphical support has in many ways ensured program successes that may otherwise not have been possible. She contributed innovative and creative ideas that enhanced both core IA Program publications and the world wide web page.

Her graphics support on The Department of Energy, Information Architecture, Volume III, Guidance and Volume IV, Vision included top notch, professional quality, computer designed renderings and illustrations which, when viewed, speak loudly for themselves. These illustrations and diagrams were critical to the IA Program’s ability to explain and convey what are otherwise often complex and complicated aspects of IA and various technology issues. The cover design of the Vision document, a complex rendering of a glass globe containing our IA Program pyramid symbol inside it, is quite frankly amazing. Ms. White has shown time and again her ability to transcend the technical complexities and create just the correct graphics to supplement and explain otherwise difficult to understand issues and aspects of the Program.

Mary White is a very talented and most capable graphics artist, as well as, a very capable and knowledgeable web page designer. In addition to her support to the formal printed IA Volumes and various briefings, she was also very involved in designing and creating the new DOE IA Web Page at – HTTP: //cio.doe.gov/iap. Her graphic designs give the page a very professional look that we have received many compliments on, from users and casual viewers alike. Several requests have been made, from other Federal agencies, to utilize one or more features she was responsible for designing.

I highly recommend Ms. White, her creativity, energy, and highly competent technical design services to anyone needing top quality graphics design support. She is truly a professional and always endeavors to create the correct design for each purpose. It has always been a pleasure interacting with her regarding any aspects of her IA Program graphical support. She has provided very valuable services and products which are in many ways responsible for our Program’s success.
